The Library
I took the long way home from Cairo (points flights are sometimes interesting routings) which meant I had an afternoon in transit in Vienna. They have it quite well set up – lockers to leave your luggage, a train from the airport to the middle of the city, and a lot of sights within walking distance.
To begin with, I started on the hop-on-hop-off bus, but soon jumped off to explore the National Library and the Innere Stadt.
The Spanish Riding School
I managed to accidentally find the Spanish Riding School and a few Swarovski shops on my wanderings around the inner city, before I had to head back to the airport.
A brief visit, but it whetted my appetite – I certainly want to visit again with more time.
