Transit – Dubai

I just landed in Dubai. I’d forgotten just how warm and sticky it is here! We landed at 5am and it was already 36C and outside it’s like breathing soup. Inside the new Terminal 3 building is beautifully cool, and scarily huge. We had to go through security, then down escalators, then up three times the height of those escalators, right next to the first ones down! Not good for my fear of heights! 😉

Lots of the usual duty free shops, but I haven’t found Swarovski yet. Mmmm 🙂

I’m having breakfast in the Marhaba lounge (one of the perks of my expensive credit card – gives me emirates FF points AND free entry to the marhaba lounges). Comfy chairs and wifi. Woo!

Flight to Venice in three hours.

The long haul from Perth was okay. I booked my seat reeeeaaaally early so had a bulkhead seat. Managed to get a couple of hours of napping in while listening to my ipod, and only watched one in-flight movie! (The Proposal  with Sandra Bullock. Exactly as you’d expect. Miss Congeniality is still my fave.) Even after my pre-flight massage yesterday my back’s feeling very interesting! Hopefully a sleep on a flat surface tonight will help.

There was a school trip taking up the back part of the plane, but I didn’t hear a thing from them. Not bad!
